AF304 Practicum in Air Carrier Operations
- Successful completion of AF 207B
- Consent of Aviation Flight Department
Students gain practical experience and training by participating as flight officers on passenger aircraft flights. Enables students to practice, under close supervision, the role of first officer within a passenger carrier format. Course includes 20 hours of flight time and a minimum of 40 hours pre- and post-flight activities and instruction.
- To learn how to fly passengers in a safe and comfortable manner.
- To lean basic professional pilot skills.
This course is taught through ground lessons and through flying actual passengers (members of the SIU community) to various destinations in the Midwest.
Upon completion, student receives Pass/Fail rather than a letter grade.
