Getting Here

Located in scenic Carbondale, Illinois, SIUC is easily accessible by car, train and of course airplane.
To drive to the the campus:
From the Chicago area and East
Take Interstate 57 south until reaching Exit 54 at Illinois Route 13 westbound in Marion, IL. Follow Route 13 until reaching U.S. 51 (University Avenue) and turn south (left). The campus will be on the right and can be entered at Lincoln Drive.
From the North
Follow U.S. 51 south directly into the heart of Carbondale. The campus is located on the right and can be entered at Lincoln Drive.
From the South
Follow U.S. 51 north directly into Carbondale. The campus is located on the left, and may be entered at Saluki Drive, south of the new football stadium, or at Lincoln Drive, north of the SIUC Physical Plant.
From the West and the St. Louis Area
From St. Louis, take Interstate 64 eastbound until reaching Exit 50, Illinois Route 127, at Nashville, IL. Exit southbound onto 127 and proceed until reaching Illinois Route 13. Follow Illinois Route 13 westbound from Murphysboro, IL, into the heart of Carbondale. Make a right turn (southbound) at U.S. Route 51 (University Avenue). The campus will be on the right and can be entered at Lincoln Drive.
By Rail
Amtrak offers daily service from Chicago's Union Station to Carbondale. This train also makes numerous stops along the Interstate 57 corridor giving easy access to anyone in these areas. The train station is located approximately 2 blocks north of the SIUC campus.
By Airplane
Just 10 miles to the east of Carbondale, The Williamson County Airport offers daily scheduled flight service via Cape Air to St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
Getting to the Southern Illinois Airport
The Southern Illinois Airport is located between the cities of Carbondale and Murphysboro just to the north of Illinois Route 13 on Airport Road. From Carbondale, accessing the airport is as easy as driving west on Illinois Rt. 13 for approximately three miles until reaching Airport Road. Airport Road can be quickly identified by a large blue sign that says Southern Illinois Airport. Drive north on Airport Road for about two miles to arrive at the Airport Terminal Building and adjacent free parking lots.
